After conducting long-term trials on various client vehicles, we’ve discovered a significant issue with large catalytic converters: they severely impact engine efficiency.
These bulky converters restrict exhaust gas flow, causing heat buildup and making them more effective at reducing carbon monoxide emissions. However, this excessive heat can saturate the turbocharger, triggering a decrease in engine power as detected by the EGT sensor, which monitors safe combustion temperatures.
Removing the catalytic converter has proven to be highly beneficial for vehicles with the 3.2-liter engine. It optimizes engine conditions, resulting in cooler running turbos, reduced wear and tear, and overall engine health improvement.
